God Jesus Christianity

Here is just a simple summary of what Christians believe.

Mankind had fallen astray from God, worshiping false gods and idols and behaving in immoral and depraved ways. To try to show people the errors of their way, and provide a way all mankind can have eternal life in heaven, God sent his son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus was born to Mary a virgin. Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas day 25th December.

Jesus went around telling people how they should be living their lives, that they should turn to God. He lived his life perfectly without committing any sin or wrong doing and performed many miracles and healed people. Eventually Jesus was arrested and executed by crucifixion. However After 3 days Jesus came back to life, he was Son of God after all!

He showed himself to his disciples and many other people including a crowd of 500. Jesus told them that because he had died for their sins and now has risen, every person can now have a personal relationship with God through him and live an eternal life with God in heaven. Jesus then ascended to heaven a few days later the disciples gathered together in a house and heard a rushing wind, they were all filled with the holy spirit and began talking in tongues . This is the time Christians celebrate as Easter and Ascension and Pentecost which varies in date each year but falls between end of March and April

All a person has to do is pray and acknowledge all their sin and ask for it all to be forgiven, , believe with all their soul and heart that Jesus is the Son of God that he did die and rise from dead so that we can be saved through him, , then ask Jesus to come into and live in them, and fill them with the Holy Spirit. .

Of course this is just the beginning, in return for eternal life and salvation Christians have a duty and obligation to God. They must try to live their lives as Jesus did, not easy as Jesus was and is the only person walking on earth ot lead a 100% perfect sin free life, but we must try to get as close to it as we can. A Christians responsibility is to simply be a witness to God, to tell others about how they can be saved through Jesus. God also demands our love and attention through prayer and praise.

You may have seen WWJD , this is a good reminder as to how Christians should behave as it stands for, What Would Jesus Do? Christianity is a way of life, not just for Sundays. However God loves everyone, and if someone does sin or goes astray God will always welcome them back and forgive them, but this is not an excuse to keep indulging in your wrong doings. God knows everything.
